You Get What You Pay For.............

I mixed feelings on this stove. The Amazon seller's pice is currently $169 with free shipping. It's debatable if this "stove" is worth this price; probably "well, I guess so" but (in my opinion) not a penny more. For a side porch, basement room or similar space, it is fine. Basically a very nice space heater as it can blow heated air (electric) if desired and does a fairly decent job of heating a small space without excessive noise (not to say it is noise free). The fake "flame" and "burning ember logs" are OK too and kind of fun to watch in a bug-zapper sort of way. Honestly, you know it is fake and a little on the cheap side but still pleasant enough and adds a nice feel to the room. The dual front doors of this "stove" swing open to reveal a control panel for separate heat and flame light settings, etc. Also included is a basic remote control which allows you to play with it from the comfort of your easy chair. I can state I am satisfied enough with the heat feature and visual ambience to keep it, but quality of the finished product is lacking. As noticeable in the pictures (obvious if you look) the legs and doors are PLASTIC! The main "body" of this stove is an adequate stamped thin gauge steel. The painted finish has a nice shine and is flawless (no runs, scratches, dirt,etc.). However the plastic doors and legs are tacky and detract from the overall presentation of the assembled unit. Also lacking were user directions. A single sheet of paper with BASIC assembly instructions were included (1.Snap plastic legs into slot. 2. Insert screw. 3.Tighten screw. 4. Stand upright. 5. Plug it in and use). But no USER INSTRUCTIONS for heat settings, the timer (I THINK it has one), flame light settings, use of remote, etc. I bought this as a gift to my mother to use on an enclosed porch in her older home. She genuinely likes this stove (but then, what mother does not fuss over an unexpected present from her adult son?) and it does look "cute" and homey in it's setting. Since she likes it, we'll keep it and I do not regret buying it. But, even with the "discounted" price I am uncertain if I would buy another one, especially as a gift. Perhaps this will work for you if your expectations are not too high. It is cute, but in no way "heavy duty" and realism is a stretch. Worst of all, and there is little excuse for those cheesy plastic doors and legs.
