Dependable, Effective Heater
By S. W. Elder
I just bought one of these to replace an identical one I'd purchased 20-25 years ago. The motor finally wore out after nearly daily use (during the cold season, which can be fairly long and occasionally severe in Oregon). It just quietly sits there, the thermostat maintaining whatever temp you like, year after year. It can really throw out the heat, too. I hardly ever have to turn the thermostat up over 1/4 of the way.I'm going to find a replacement motor for my old one and keep it as a spare or put it in a different room. Probably be good for another 20 years. It's just so nice to find something of quality that just works nowadays. I highly recommend this heater.

Very pleased with this heater
By A. Hammel
We have done over our basement several years ago into a lage family room. We have a wood burning stove there and have tried several small electric heaters when not wanting to build a fire. We purchased this heater with a 220 supply line. It works very well. It heats up the room quickly and then when you turn the thermostat down it only comes on as needed. It sits on carpet that does NOT heat up. I saw one that a friend had and he was very impressed so we are trying it. Have not yet received my electic bill since it has been installed only for about a week. Rochester New York

Good heater, but don't buy this one
By Mr Joel Mason
I use my garage as my workshop and needed a heater to keep it warm enough to work in during the winter. The garage is 25 feet long and 10 feet wide, with two outside walls, one inside wall, and a wooden door. As a test for the heater, I wanted to see how long it would take the heater to warm the garage up to 70 degrees. The heater itself is located 6 feet from the back wall because that's where the outlet is. I used a digital inside-outside thermometer placed 2 feet from the garage door to monitor the temperature. Initially, the outside temperature was 28.6 degrees and the inside temperature was 50.2 degrees. I turned the heater to the high setting, as instructed, and monitored the temperature. After 1 hour and 23 minutes, the outside temperature was 28.2 degrees, and the inside temperature was 70.0 degrees. At that point I turned the heater off because I was not intending to work in the garage. Even though it took quite some time to get to 70 degrees, I noticed that I felt comfortable once the temperature reached about 65 degrees which took approximately 50 minutes. In fact, I was wearing a short sleeved shirt when I was checking the temperatures and did not feel cold at 65 degrees. To address a couple of other issues, the tag on the bottom of the heater distinctly indicates that the heater is made in China. The instruction sheet for the heater is from Marley, which is a company in Bennettsville, South Carolina that sells a variety of industrial products. That's exactly why you should not buy this heater. If you search the Amazon site carefully, which I unfortunately did not do, you will find the Marley PP268 heater that is identical to the Fahrenheat model The only difference is that the Marley version sells for $99.00 with free shipping, instead of the $111.00 for the Fahrenheat. Not a big difference, but a difference never the less. The heater is fairly noisy, but not noisy enough to be a factor in your buying decision. The last point is related to the 240 volt outlet needed for this heater. I did have a 240 volt outlet in the garage, but found out quickly that it was not the correct receptacle. Therefore, I had to replace the existing receptacle with a 6-20P receptacle that is required for the heater plug.
